Weldon police are looking for two people who committed an armed robbery at a store in the 200 block of East Second Street Monday night.

Chief Chris Davis said in a statement the robbery, in which an undisclosed amount of money was taken, occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Both suspects had handguns.

Davis said this morning one of the suspects appears to have the hood of a sweatshirt pulled tightly over the face while the other appears to have a red shirt covering the face.

He said it is possible they may have left the scene in a vehicle. As of this report a possible direction of travel was not known.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Sergeant T.L. Mason at 252-536-1154 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
