A woman who received a 30-day civil revocation in October due to driving while impaired received another DWI count on Saturday, according to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
Arniesha Latiffah Malone, who, as of this report, remained in custody at the Halifax County Detention Center, also had a restriction code from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles limiting her to a .04 breath alcohol content due to a 2020 DWI conviction, Chief Shane Guyant said.
On Saturday Captain J. Baggett observed a person later identified as Malone driving a Ford Explorer south in the 800 block of Jackson Street. The vehicle had a piece of cardboard where the plate is supposed to be.

The vehicle was stopped in the 1100 block of Jackson Street.
A strong odor of alcohol emanated from within the vehicle.
Baggett discovered Malone's driver’s license was suspended for the 30-day civil revocation due to the DWI charge she received on October 27.
Master Officer K. Williams responded to the scene to assist with standardized field sobriety testing.
At the conclusion of the testing, it was determined that Malone was impaired and she was arrested.
Malone was transported to the police department where she submitted to a chemical analysis of her breath and reported a .13 BAC. The legal limit in North Carolina is a .08 BAC.
Malone was subsequently charged with DWI, driving while license revoked, failure to comply with license restrictions, and no insurance.
She was jailed without opportunity for bond due to pending charges and has a December 11 court date.
