Halifax Community College has received a $25,000 donation from First Citizens Bank in Roanoke Rapids.

The funds will be allocated to the First Citizens Bank Scholarship, which helps students excel academically and prepares them for success in their future endeavors by eliminating financial obstacles that may hinder their academic journey.

"We express our deepest gratitude to First Citizens Bank for their generous contribution. This donation will greatly benefit our students and support their academic excellence at HCC," said Victor Marrow, executive director of the Halifax Community College Foundation.

Kenny Deloatch, senior vice president of First Citizens, said, "I believe in the transformative power of education and its ability to shape individuals and communities. HCC is doing exceptional work, and First Citizens Bank is honored to contribute to their success."

HCC President Patrena Elliott said, "Our college was elated to receive this donation during HCC's National Day of Giving. A single act has the potential to transform lives."
