Chaloner baseball opens with wins

Chaloner Middle School baseball opened its baseball season for 2017 this past week with two wins beating GCP and Weldon.

GCP 1-0-1   Total 2
CMS defeated GCP 25-2 Wednesday afternoon.
CMS had 25 runs and 15 hits. The leading hitter was Jonathon Connor who had 4 hits (with a double and a triple) with 6 RBI's. A. J. Strickland had 3 hits (double and triple) with 5 RBI's. Wade Jenkins had 2 hits and a RBI. Hunt Van Dam had a triple and a RBI. Bennett Liverman, Grayson Hargrave, Collin Clements, Landen Birdsong, and Anthony Jones also added hits.
Grayson Hargrave was the winning pitcher. He struck out 6 batters and gave up 1 hit and 1 run. Jonathon Connor pitched the last inning giving up 1 hit and 1 run while striking out 2 batters.

CMS     4-6-0-3 Final 13
Russell Moore pitched a perfect game to lead Chaloner Middle School to a 13-0 victory over Weldon Middle School.  Moore struck out 11 out of 12 batters.
Wade Jenkins led the offense with a 2 run inside the park homerun. Hunt Van Dam (triple) and Grayson Hargrave had two hits and a RBI a piece. Avery Johnson had a 2 run hit single. Caleb Elias, Anthony Jones, and Jacob Edenbeck all had run producing singles for the Jackets.
