A noise complaint Sunday led Weldon officers to recover a gun stolen from Durham. Captain James Avens said Officer Bob Lufkin and Lieutenant Chris Davis responded to the Interstate Inn.
While there a strong odor of marijuana was noticed coming from Room 222. Upon investigation trying to locate any drugs in the room two handguns were found. A .45-caliber pistol was found in the bathroom and a .32-caliber pistol was found on a shelf. The .45-caliber pistol was reported stolen out of Durham. There was also marijuana located in the room. Justin LeVelt Simmons and Divante Jacquan Lee were arrested. Simmons was given a $10,000 unsecured bond and Lee was given a $5,000 unsecured bond.
