Phillip Earl Rooke Jr.

Mr. Phillip Earl Rooke, Jr. 50, of Roanoke Rapids died unexpectedly on January 15, 2018.

Born November 11, 1967, in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of Phillip Earl Rooke, Sr. and Edith Moore Rooke.
Phillip was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School.

 A welder by trade, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, and was a member of the Dixie Devils Motorcycle Club.  

He loved babies and his dog, Mason; he also was a loving and supportive care giver for his father, Earl.

In addition to his father, Phillip is survived by his companion, Phyllis Moody; his daughter, Anna Rae Woodruff; brother, Quentin Chip Ryder and wife Glenda; granddaughter, Alexis, and an expected granddaughter; nieces, Tonya (Jay) Ricks, Monica (Danny) Hall, Sherri Ryder, Beth (William) Phipps; great nieces and nephews; and favorite cousin, Lynn Moore Joyner. His mother preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 3 - 5 pm Sunday.  

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
