Windsor Commercial of Greensboro, the contractor for the project, submitted the plans Thursday to the Roanoke Rapids Planning and Development Department.
Planning and Development Director Kelly Lasky said no construction time frame was immediately given to the city.
Besides Jersey Mike’s and Great Clips, Mattress Warehouse will occupy one of the spaces as will a currently unknown restaurant with a drive-through.
According to the plans Mattress Warehouse will occupy 5,000 square feet while the restaurant will occupy 2,100 square feet. Jersey Mike’s and Great Clips will make up the remaining square footage at 1,300 and 1,200 respectively.
Jersey Mike’s began in 1956 and has grown to 1,500 locations either open are under development.
Great Clips began in 1982 and has more than 4,300 locations across North America.
Mattress Warehouse has more than 240 locations.
Alex Hale, who is in charge of business development for Windsor Commercial, said the plan will be to start quickly after the civil plans are approved. Architectural plans also have to be submitted and approved and the company has to apply for building permits.
Hale said he did not know what the restaurant planned for the location would be.
