Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, she was the daughter of Herman Newsome and Ruby Davis Newsome and the Wife of Joseph Wayne Murphy. Ms. Murphy was a Networking Switching Technician.
She is survived by two daughters; Sue Ann Maughmer and Husband, Major and Crystal Ward and Husband, Bill, both of Chillicothe, OH; Four sisters; Ruby Ann Hudgins and Husband, Bradford of Concord, NC, Alice Gray and Husband Morris of Harbinger, NC, Joy Harrington and Husband, Mike of Dinwiddie, VA, and Margaret Pinney of Wake Forest, NC and a Brother; “HD” Newsome of Littleton, NC, and nine grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:00am at Grandy Assembly of God with the Rev. Steven King officiating. Burial will take place in the Newsome Family Cemetery.
