The City County Drug Task Force is investigating a reputed trap house from which fentanyl and heroin are believed to be sold.

Captain A.M. Harris said this evening agents have identified several reputed drug dealers who are selling from the residence, which is located in the 400 block of A Street. A Street is in the South Rosemary community off Oak Street.

Harris declined to name the alleged dealers but did confirm there is an active investigation.

In a statement Harris said agents, the Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team and investigators from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence shortly before 12:30 this afternoon.

Agents seized paraphernalia from the residence. Harris said this evening the paraphernalia consisted of digital scales and lottery slips, which are used to package the fentanyl.

He said there were small amounts of powder residue throughout the residence.

In the statement he said this residence had been identified as a trap house. There wasn’t any clothing hung in any of the closets. There was a television, a couch, a mattress in a bedroom and a camera surveillance system at the residence.

A trap house is common among drug dealers, who will either rent or a buy a house to sell drugs from instead of selling from their own residence. Some dealers will allow addicts to use in the trap houses.

No charges were filed and Agent D.J. Epperson will continue to follow-up.

Foster was also served with outstanding warrants for assault on a female, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.

Those warrants had been obtained by Investigator Jeff Davis with the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

Foster has a July 18 court date.
