The Roanoke Rapids High School Yellow Jackets Men's soccer team opened their 2018-19 season off Monday night at home on Hoyle Field.

Roanoke Rapids outlasted Currituck County 6-5 to earn win one.

Roanoke Rapids Goals: Carson Neal 4, Cameron Wilson 1, Josh Miller 1

Roanoke Rapids Assists: Emerson Escobar 3, Cameron Wilson 2, Josh Miller 1

Jackets goalie AJ Pearson had 14 saves in goal.

Post match comments from Jackets head coach Craig Jean, "We are happy to come away with a win. The boys played hard and found a way to hold on. Currituck was a tough test, but we needed it. We
will use film study tomorrow to recover. We will take a look at things we did good and what we've got to fix.  We had a few guys get their first start and a taste of big time minutes. It's gonna take some time to get them where they need to be, but we will get there- hopefully by Wednesday at  Granville Central. "
