Six charged in Goldmine larceny, machine damage

Six people have been arrested throughout this month following a July larceny from Goldmine Cafe in Becker Village Mall.

The charges reflect several people reportedly took one of the games apart and removed cash, Roanoke Rapids police Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement.

Hasty said some of the people charged were given money by those who went inside the machine.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Goldmine Cafe, an internet gaming establishment, filed a report on August 8, Hasty said in a statement.

The operators reported several people had taken one of the games apart and removed cash from inside.

The act was captured on the business’s video surveillance equipment, which was reviewed by Investigator G.L. Williams.

The following were arrested and charged:

  • Marvin Lewis Peters, 64, of Gaston. He was arrested on August 13 by Williams and charged with larceny and damage to property.

He received a $1,000 bond.

  • Corey O’Brien Dalton, 31, of Roanoke Rapids. He was arrested on August 16  by Williams and charged with larceny and damage to property.

He received an $8,000 bond.

  • Tyrell Lakim Johnson, 28, of Roanoke Rapids. He was arrested on August 17 by Williams and charged with larceny and damage to property.

He received a $5,000 bond.

  • Bobbiau’na Deloatch, 18, of Seaboard, surrendered to the Halifax County Sheriff ‘s Office on August 17 and was served the outstanding warrants for larceny and damage to property by Investigator C.S. Guyant.

She received a $1,000 bond.

  • Donte Jaquan Barnes, 25, of Seaboard, was arrested by Northampton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy C. Martin on August 17 for the outstanding warrants for larceny and injury to property.

He received a $10,000 bond.

  • Alicia Shoulders, 28, of Seaboard, was arrested by Northampton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy R. Horton on Tuesday for the outstanding warrants for larceny and injury to property.

He received a $5,000 bond.

All those charged have September 5 court dates.
