Roanoke Rapids students returned to class today and here a few scenes of opening day.

Administrators encourage the community to be extra cautious as students return to class.  

Monitors are on every bus again this year to provide an extra level of security and to alert authorities if people pass stopped school buses.  

In the second photo Hebby Pleasant takes a photo of her son at Belmont Elementary commemorating the start of the school year.  

In the third photo Superintendent Dain Butler greeted students at all RRGSD campuses.  

In the fourth photo students at Roanoke Rapids High School were issued their Chromebook laptops last week so they were ready for use on the first day of school.
