Not only were the 2018 Halifax Academy Lady Vikings softball team recognized for winning the 1A State Championship, but 2018 Senior Candice Smith had her number 3 jersey retired.

Smith was a six year varsity starter, the first 7th grader ever pulled up to play varsity at Halifax.  Smith was part of three State Championship teams and one runner up team and batted over .500 three years and last year she has a state high batting average .720.
