Another man who was with them Wednesday was arrested and served an order for arrest out of New Hanover County.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement the department received information Wednesday about the location of alleged suspects in the robbery of State Line Grocery located on Gaston Road.

C Squad officers went to a residence in the 600 block of Williams Street around 6 p.m. and took the following into custody without trouble:

• Marion Leequial Nelson, 27, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

He received a $75,000 bond and November 7 court date pending extradition to Virginia.

• Jamonte Lequan Gorham, 27, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Nelson and Gorham were wanted by the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office for the State Line Grocery robbery, Hasty said in the statement.

Gorham was also served outstanding warrants for two counts obtaining property by false pretense, two counts forgery and served an outstanding order for arrest  for a probation violation.

Gorham has been listed as an absconder from probation and parole by the state Department of Public Safety.

His Roanoke Rapids charges stem from an investigation by Lieutenant C.L. Vaught and Investigator J.K. Davis into reports from June and August of 2017 where he allegedly cashed counterfeit checks at banks.

Gorham received a $135,000 bond and a November 7 court date. He is also pending extradition to Virginia.

Jaquan Tereke Harris, 23, of Weldon,was served an outstanding order for arrest out of New Hanover County. He received  a $400 bond with a September 20 court date in Wilmington.

Hasty said this morning the police department worked in conjunction with Greensville County authorities. “We’ve always worked together. Criminals know no boundaries. We will continue to work with our partners across state lines.”

Members of C Squad are Lieutenant  J. Baggett, Master Officer G. Colson and officers J. DeSare, M. Hunsucker and H. Marshall.

The Greensville County Sheriff’s Office reported the armed robbery occurred Monday morning and the alleged suspects left in a vehicle headed into North Carolina.
