December input leads to revised streetscape plans

Monday presents final chance for streetscape input

The public will have another chance Monday to review streetscape plans for Roanoke Avenue as well the green space left by the demolition of 1026 Roanoke Avenue.

Avenue streetscape concepts unveiled

A Greenville engineering and planning firm presented three streetscape concepts to the public this evening as well two conceptual plans for the vacant property at 1026 Roanoke Avenue.

The public will have a chance to give its input on three potential streetscape concepts for Roanoke Avenue at an upcoming workshop this month.

The Roanoke Rapids Fire Department and the Main Street program told council this evening both departments received significant grant funds, which between the two funding awards total close to $200,000.

A collaborative effort between Main Street Roanoke Rapids and the Halifax County Arts Council Thursday will give people a chance to see the creative side of the Roanoke Valley through art, photos and music.
