HP continues Saturday night chase probe

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues its investigation into a chase which started late Saturday night on Interstate 95.

The man charged in the traffic death of a 17-year-old Virginia girl is now in custody in the Halifax County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.

The state Highway Patrol will lodge a second-degree murder charge against a Hollister man allegedly responsible for the death of a 17-year-old girl in a three-car collision Saturday.

Efird honored for rescuing nurse

North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper Dustin Efird was honored today by Halifax County commissioners for actions in July which helped rescue a nurse who languished in her bath tub for three nights after taking a fall.

Littleton man dies in Ita Rd. crash

A Littleton area man died this afternoon in a crash on Ita Road, according to the state Highway Patrol.
