Wakefield VA - died peacefully on September 27, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.W. “Jack” Griffin Sr.; her parents, Elmer E. Ross and Hattie Borrell Ross; two sisters, Irma Molloy, Margie Hicks, and a brother, J.D. Ross. She is survived by her brother, Wallace Edwards; two sons, Clarence Wayne Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Susan Reagan Griffin, and Ross Laine Griffin and his wife, Heather Hill Griffin; four grandchildren, Reagan Griffin, Whitney Griffin, Alexis Watkins and Allie Watkins.

Peggy Ruth Banner Robinson

October 11th 1940 - October 10th 2025

Peggy passed on the night of October 10th 2025 at ECU North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids NC. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Earl Banner and Rebecca Lynch Banner of Erwin TN, her sister Linda Banner Edwards of Erwin TN, her daughter Teresa Nolen Emery, and her husband, Robert “Bob” Robinson of Roanoke Rapids NC.

She is survived by her daughters Sharon Nolen Garner (Bruce), Laurie Campbell Moseley (Brian Lewis), and Misty Campbell Pearson; grandchildren: Jill Garner Byrum (Kaleb), Lindsey Garner (Ian), Jordan Sheppard (Meleah), Hunter Moseley, Briana Lewis (John), Dustin Pearson, Morgan Pearson; great grandchildren: Adalyn Byrum, River Byrum, and Cecilee Byrum. Her niece Lisa Edwards, and brother in law Larry Edwards of Erwin TN. She is also survived by her much loved special kitty cat, Shadow.

Peggy was a long time resident of Roanoke Rapids, NC and of Erwin, TN; she owned Campbell and Company Salon, was co-owner of the Hairstyling Academy of Roanoke Rapids, was a hairstylist for many years, as well as the owner of a beloved craft shop. 

Peggy assisted her husband with many aspects of Modern Woodmen Insurance Company. She was involved with many civic organizations and projects throughout her life, and an advocate for domestic violence survivors, and a true animal lover. She participated in various choirs, and music groups as she was a talented singer.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday Oct 14th from 5pm - 7pm at the home — 831 Raleigh Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
