Edith Lynch MacKenzie, age 88, passed away peacefully in her home in Roanoke Rapids on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022.

Squirt played basketball for Roanoke Rapids High School and was also a cheerleader. She was a proud 1952 graduate of RRHS.

In 1954, Edith married the love of her life Robert “Bob” MacKenzie.  

In 1955, Edith began her legacy as Mama to four daughters (including our first set of twins).  Edith became Mymommy to five grandchildren and Grandmommy to twin boys.

Mama was always happy, playful, and spunky.  She never spoke an unkind word about anyone.  Mom was our Angel on earth.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Betty Jean MacKenzie, her sister Mary Lynch Nethercutt Taylor, and her parents.

Edith is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Bob; her four daughters Patty Little (Lynn), Terry Sides (Jim), Jan Cline (Michael), and Jane Stewart (Mike).  Her grandchildren; Laurie Livengood (Jeremy), Gale Sides, Lauren Cline, Marie and Robert Stewart.  And our second set of twins in the family, great grandchildren Masyn and Bradyn Livengood.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Wrenn Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.  There will be an 11:00 AM graveside service on Saturday, April 9th at Cedarwood Cemetery.  Presiding over the service will be Father Pius Wekesa.  The family will visit with friends after the service.
