One Motel 6 robbery suspect in custody

Roanoke Rapids police are interviewing one Motel 6 robbery suspect this morning while another remains at large.

In three summers, WakeSurf NC has grown from a school for friends and family to learn the art of the sport to an official business where people summering on Lake Gaston come to take lessons.

Ethelene 'Kitty' Butler

Ethelene “Kitty” Butler, 80, of 968 Wait Ave, Wake Forest, NC died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Hillside Nursing Center.  She was born August 26, 1932 in Northampton County, to the late Bernice and Sallie Turner.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Harvey Lee Butler and Albert “Jack” Newsome.  Her son Arnold Butler, and two sisters, Mamie Turner and Irene Turner.
