The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery which occurred this morning around 5:30 at Speedway on West Tenth Street.

Captain Scott Hall said a person described as a Black male entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money and tobacco products.

He fled from the store with the items and was last seen running towards Bolling Road.

He appeared to be carrying a book bag and wearing a surgical mask.
