The Northampton County Sheriff's Office Thursday arrested a Gaston man wanted by the Greensville County Sheriff's Office in a Sunday home invasion.

Captain M.D. DeLoatch Sr. of Northampton said the sheriff's office received a call Thomas Lee Banks, 26, was possibly in the Gaston area.

The sheriff's office found Banks at the Gaston housing projects and he was taken into custody with assistance rom the Gaston and Garysburg police departments without trouble.

He was transported to the Northampton County Detention Center and charged with being a fugitive from justice. He received a $350,000 secured bond and July 23 court date.

“The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work closely with all law enforcement agencies including those in the state of Virginia,” Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith said in a statement. “Through a collective effort this arrest was brought to a peaceful closure. Mr. Banks will be held in the Northampton County Detention Center until he posts bond or waives extradition and is transferred back to Virginia.”
