RRPD blotter: July 13-16

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

July 13

Around 10 a.m., Sergeant Richie White conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation.

White encountered McCoy Parker, 48, of Roanoke Rapids, and during the stop the officer determined Parker's license was revoked.

White arrested Parker for driving while license revoked.

During a search White found a set of brass knuckles in Parker's possession, leading to an additional charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

He was given a $1,000 bond and an August 28 court date.

Officer Ryan Cross assisted.

July 14

Around 2:45 p.m., Officer Joey Spragins responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention told Spragins Angel Antoinetee Alston, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, took items from the store without paying for them.

Spragins cited Alston for larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Alston was released until her court date on September 18.

Around 9:30 p.m., Sergeant Mike Moseley responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

An off-duty deputy sheriff reported Alfred Edison Short, 36, of Roanoke Rapids, took items without paying.

Moseley spotted Short walking through parking lots and located him inside the New Dixie BP on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.

Moseley arrested and charged Short for trespassing and resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer for giving a false name.

Short, who was out of jail on other charges, received a $4,000 bond and August 8 court date.

July 15

Around 12:15 a.m., Officer Adam Salmon responded to a call about a trespasser at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Staff said Cornell Travis Pender, 29, of Scotland Neck, came to the emergency room for treatment but then declined examination and would not leave.

Salmon arrested and charged Pender with trespassing. He was given a $1,000 bond and an August 8 court date.

Around 1:30 p.m., Spragins responded to a trespasser call at Walmart.

Loss prevention told Spragins Randy Rayshon Lee, 23, of Littleton, was banned from the store. Spragins located Lee inside and arrested him for trespassing.

Lee also had an outstanding warrant for larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Lee received a $700 bond and an August 7 court date.

Around 4 p.m., Master Officer Gerald Morris conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation.

Morris issued Henry Eugene Clay Jr., 30, of Weldon, an ordinance for speeding.

Morris found Clay in possession of a pipe and cited him for possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released until his August 28 court date.

July 16

Around 10:15 p.m., Salmon responded to a call of loud music and drinking in the Fairfield Apartments parking lot.

He noticed a small crowd and one person holding an open beer.

Salmon had the crowd leave and spoke with Dedrick Decon Carter, 27, of Roanoke Rapids.

During a search Salmon located a bag of marijuana in Carter’s pocket.

Salmon arrested and charged Carter with possession of schedule VI and issued him a city ordinance for an open container.

Carter received a $500 bond and an October 10 court date.
