Most teenagers spend their summer vacationing, pool side or even enjoying Lake Gaston, but not rising Roanoke Rapids Junior lady Jacket softball player Breanna Allen.

Allen, who played outfield, third base and pitcher for the Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets finished her 2015 season in 19 games with a .288 batting average with 17 hits and 16 RBI's. On the mound she pitched 9.2 innings with 11 strike-outs and allowed 5 walks.

Her summer is about softball and her love for the game. Breanna has continued to play travel softball for the Carolina Mash based out of Oxford all summer. So far this summer the girls have played the ASA State tournament in Raleigh, a Showcase tournament in Rock Hill SC, back to Raleigh for the Cardinal Classic Showcase to mention a few.

In between her private lessons she has attended many college camps to better her game.  Such as UNC Wilmington, UNC Greensboro, George Mason University, Lynchburg College, Proswings professional college showcase in Rock Hill SC, Averett University, UNC Pembroke, Pitt Community College and Mount Olive College.

Allen is hoping her hard work and love for the game will pay off in the future.
