The Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team and the patrol division of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department assisted the task force in serving the warrant, Harris said, ending with the arrest of Ernest Junior Green.
During the search of the residence with assistance from task force Lieutenant H.G. Phillips and his dog, Josh, approximately 1.8 grams of cocaine and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized. The drug paraphernalia included a digital scale, plastic bags, a plate and a razor blade.
Harris arrested and charged Green with felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Green received a $3,000 secured bond and was confined to the Halifax County Detention Center with a December 16 court date.
“This was a continued effort between the city and all agencies within the county,” Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty said this morning.
Citizens are encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 to report any drug complaints.
