Arraignment in the Operation Rockfish police corruption case has been continued until the February 9 term of court in Greenville.

The order allowing the continuance comes from a joint motion from attorneys representing the defendants in the case.

The attorneys, according to federal court records, asked for an extension of the pre-trial motions deadline and continuance of the arraignment. “Assistant United States Attorney Toby Lathan has no objection,” the order reads.

The order means all pre-trial motions, including motions to compel discovery, suppress and others under varying federal rules must be filed no later than January 15. Responses to motions shall be filed within 14 days after service of such motions, the order reads.

Arraignment had been scheduled for next month.
