RRPD blotter: November 16-19, 2015

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Monday November 16, 2015

At approximately 10 a.m., Officer Greg Colson responded to a larceny call at S&L Pet Shop.

Staff reported on Saturday they noticed a jungle carpet snake and cage missing from the shop.

Colson learned through investigation Dustin Travis Nowell, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, sold the snake to another business.

Colson, along with Lieutenant Perry Parks and Officer Jamie Hardy, arrested Nowell Tuesday around 7 p.m. and charged him with larceny, possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense.

Nowell received a $3,000 bond and a December 4 court date.

The snake was returned to the business.

Tuesday November 17, 2015

At approximately 9:15 a.m., Colson responded to an assault call in the 1400 block of East Chaloner Drive.

During his investigation, Colson noticed injuries to both parties.

He charged Jason Scott Cain, 35, of Roanoke Rapids, with assault on a female and arrested and charged Courtney Whitley Cain, 33, of Roanoke Rapids, with assault.

They have December 4 court dates.

Sergeant Daniel Jenkins, Master Officer Roy Ball and Hardy assisted.

Wednesday November 18, 2015

At approximately 3:45 p.m., Hardy responded to a call of drug activity at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Hospital staff reported Dawn Marie Tripp, 30, was visiting Jeremy Wayne Narron, 27.

During the visit Tripp allegedly gave Narron some heroin.

Hardy arrested and charged Tripp and Narron, both of Roanoke Rapids, with possession of schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They both received $10,000 bonds and have December 16 court dates.

Parks and Colson assisted.

Thursday November 19, 2015

At approximately 1 p.m., Hardy conducted a traffic stop on Tenth Street for a violation.

Hardy found the driver, Pamela Jo Pace, 46, of Roanoke Rapids, in possession of narcotics.

Hardy cited Pace for possession of schedule VI and released her until her December 4 court date.

Parks, Ball and Colson assisted.

At approximately 4 p.m., Ball conducted a stop for loud music at Hamilton and Sixth streets.

During the stop Ball found the driver in possession of narcotics.

He arrested and charged James Jerel Mason, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI; maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mason received a $2,000 bond and a December 4 court date.

Parks assisted.

At approximately 7 p.m., Officer Jonathan Benthall responded to a motor vehicle collision at Highway 125 and Old Farm Road.

Benthall found Dallas Owen Hollowell, 22, of Roanoke Rapids, was one of the drivers involved in the collision.

The officer also found Hollowell in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.

Benthall arrested and charged Hollowell with possession of heroin; possession of schedule VI; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving while impaired and driving left of center.

Hollowell received an $8,000 bond and December 11 court date.

Hardy assisted.
