RRPD blotter: December 19-20, 2015

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Saturday December 19, 2015

At approximately 10:45 a.m., Officer Patrick Smith responded to a larceny call at a residence on West Second Street.

The victim told Smith their debit card was missing and also reported unauthorized charges.

The card was used at several locations in the city.

By reviewing surveillance video, Smith identified Michelle Lynn Williams as the suspect and obtained warrants on her.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers Adam Salmon and Jeffrey Mason located and arrested Williams on the outstanding warrants.

Williams was charged with three counts of identity theft; three counts of financial card fraud; unlawful obtaining a credit card; larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Williams received a $5,000 bond and January 15 court date.

Sunday December 20, 2015

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Lieutenant Jeff Baggett responded to a trespasser call at Sheetz.

Baggett arrested and charged Jerome Harrison Burnell Jones, 53, of Roanoke Rapids, for trespassing. Jones was on the property earlier and was asked to leave and not come back.

Jones received a $750 bond and January 22 court date.

At approximately 2 a.m., Salmon responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle leaving a closed business.

Salmon spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, Katoe Wardell Harris Jr., 17, of Roanoke Rapids, was found in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.

Salmon arrested and charged Harris with possession of schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harris received a $5,000 bond and January 15 court date.

Mason assisted.
