Man on probation faces marijuana, cocaine counts

A Weldon man already on probation for felony marijuana counts was arrested this morning by the City County Drug Task Force on more marijuana counts as well as cocaine charges.

Jerry Anderson II received 36 months of supervised probation in June of 2014, state Department of Public Safety records show.

Lieutenant H.G. Phillips of the task force said execution of a search warrant shortly after 9:30 resulted in the seizure of 201.7 grams of marijuana and 13.5 grams of cocaine. Paraphernalia consisting of digital scales and plastic bags was also seized.

The search warrant was executed in the 1200 block of Sycamore Street with assistance from the Halifax County Sheriff's Office Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team as well as Josh, the task force's dog.

Phillips applied for the search warrant based on citizen and officer complaints as well as a month-long investigation of drug sales from the residence.

Anderson was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintain a

dwelling place for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He received a $25,000 bond and February 24 court date.
