HCSO roundup: Trailer theft arrest; wanted person

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office reported the following, according to Major Scott Hall:

An Enfield man was arrested today for a trailer theft which occurred in January.

Hall said in a statement Jerome Gary, 50, faces charges of felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

The charges stem from an investigation by Detective B.C. Griffin into a stolen utility trailer taken from the Thirteen Bridges Road area of Enfield. Griffin located the trailer and it has been returned to its owner.

He was also served an outstanding order for arrest for probation violation and jailed on $3,000 bond. He has a March 30 court appearance.

Griffin declined to comment on where he located the trailer.

Hall also reported the sheriff’s office is seeking the community’s help in locating Marcus Peterson, 32, of Halifax.

After an investigation conducted by Detective D.C. Dickens, warrants were obtained for going Armed to the terror of the public, assault by pointing a gun, and communicating threats.

The charges stem from a matter reported in the Enfield community at the beginning of the month.

Peterson is known to frequent Freedom Street in Enfield, Highway 125 in Halifax and Highway 481 in Tillery.

Peterson has most likely cut his hair shorter than is shown in the available photo.
