A Weldon couple face cocaine and marijuana charges following a Thursday afternoon search warrant execution.

According to a statement, City County Drug Task Force Agent C. Parker arrested and charged Jennifer Ransom, 45, and Calvin Richardson, 32, with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.

Citizen complaints and agent investigation led to a search warrant being executed shortly before 5 p.m. by the task force and Weldon police patrol officers at a residence on East Sixth Street.

Parker had been working the case for several months based on his own investigation and citizen complaints.

With assistance from Weldon police Sergeant T.L. Mason and his dog, Rio, agents seized nine individually wrapped bags of cocaine, nine individually wrapped bags of marijuana, and several items of drug paraphernalia which included a digital scale and plastic baggies.

Ransom and Richardson received $10,000 bonds and April 27 court dates.
