The second person wanted in a December 11 shooting was taken into custody today.

Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty confirmed Jimmy I. Williams Jr., was in the process of being booked on charges of attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy.

A 15-year-old was already petitioned to court on the matter, which occurred in the 100 block of Madison Street.

Hasty said it is possible Williams may face additional charges beyond the shooting.

Williams, 18, who is from Gaston, was taken into custody at Fairfield Apartments. It is believed he stayed in the area in the days following the shooting.

Hasty said motive in the case has still not been established.

An investigation began around 8:15 p.m. on December 11 when police received a call a person was shot at East Fourth near Hamilton streets.

Responding officers learned the victim, who was found at East Fourth and Hamilton streets, was shot in 100 block of Madison Street.

Further examination determined the victim was shot and robbed.
