Roanoke Rapids High School students in Seth Warren's history class scripted their own United States flag retirement ceremony this morning.

Ken Wilson of the Halifax Resolves Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution served as burn master while Duncan Jones served as chaplain of the ceremony.

The school's JROTC served as color guard.

A second ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the football practice field behind the school.
