Investigation shows that John T. Doyle, owner of Doyle’s Garage, received a vehicle from a customer more than a year ago so it could be repaired.
Lieutenant Scott Hall said in a press release the customer made several calls to Doyle checking on the status of the vehicle, only to learn the repairs were not completed.
The victim visited the garage and learned the vehicle was allegedly stolen.
The investigation revealed the vehicle was not stolen but sold for scrap at a nearby salvage yard.
Doyle, 50, was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretense and fail to work after being paid.
He posted a $2,500 bond and has a June 5 court date.
