Local girls team up on travel team for the weekend

Halifax Academy's Drew Rose a regular player for the U14 Lady Stars travel softball team and Roanoke Rapids Sierra Hearp who played as a guest player were both part of the third place team this past weekend at the " USSSA Queen of the Diamond " tournament in Smithfield.

Both girls hit an over the fence home run. Rose played first base while Hearp pitched.

Rose was voted teams MVP and awarded the weekends trophy.
