The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a robbery that occurred Sunday night around 9:30 at the Dollar General Store on Bolling Road.

A citizen contacted Deputy C.E. Carroll to report there was a possible robbery at the store, according to a press release from Detective Rich Somogyi.

Carroll responded but the suspects fled prior to his arrival, heading towards Roanoke Rapids. No vehicle was observed.

The suspects were described as black males dressed in all black. They entered the store, bandannas over their faces, and demanded money.

They implied they were armed but no gun was seen.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Somogyi by calling 252-583-1991 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
