Mr. Tippett was born January 20, 1939 in Halifax County to the late Julian Edward Tippett and Thelma Robertson Tippett.  Mr. Tippett attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and was employed at Sherwin Williams for 35 years, retiring in 2004.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia Tippett; his aunts: Mary Jones, Justine Piper and her husband Jimmy, Lucille Reese; his uncle: Preston Robertson and his wife Patsy; his brother-in-laws: Herbert O. Rogers and Dick Williams and his wife Lavonne; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Susan Joyce and Kenneth Brantley officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
