Mrs. Ferguson was born in Halifax County December 17, 1935 to the late Willie Jesse Shaw and Nellie Mae Carlisle Shaw.  She was also preceded in death by her husband: Billy Emmanuel Ferguson; her sister: Francis Yvonne Lambert; her brother: David Claude Shaw.

Mrs. Ferguson is survived by her son: Tim Ferguson of Roanoke Rapids; her daughters Jill Coston and her husband Edward and Kathy Gregory and her husband Wayne both of Roanoke Rapids; her brothers: William Wayne Shaw and Freddie Lee Shaw both of Roanoke Rapids and Troy Leon Shaw and his wife Lisa of Mebane, NC; her sisters Iva Jean Moore and her husband Donald of Goldsboro, NC and Brenda Gail Edwards and her husband Robert of Emporia, VA; her grandchildren Brittny Dare Bradley and her husband Jacob and McKenzie Renee Coston; her great grandchildren: Ethan Warren Bradley and Jaxton Colt Bradley; and her lifelong friend: Peggy Birdsong Barrow.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at Forest Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Brink, VA with Pastor Annie Marie Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:30 P.M. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home.
