Sheriff's office announces additional promotions

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office today announced additional promotions to fill a recent vacancy.

Roy Rooks of Enfield has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and

Rooks was employed in 1999 as a deputy and has held the ranks of corporal, sergeant and criminal investigator, according to the Chief Deputy Wes Tripp.

Josh Clark of Roanoke Rapids has been promoted to the rank of criminal Investigator. He was employed in 2000 as a deputy. He has held the rank of corporal.

“These two have worked hard in their careers and continue to serve the citizens of Halifax County in a commendable manner,” Tripp said in a press release.
