Roanoke Valley U12 badeball all-stars got revenge Saturday morning against Cashie in the 2013 ENC Cal Ripken State all-star tournament.
Cashie, who knock Roanoke Valley to the losser bracket in District 7 tournament and who would beat them again in the District 7 Championship game always earned the win. So because Roanoke Valley was hosting the State tournament, Roanoke Valley was invited as the host team and had another shot at Cashie. RV has worked their way through the winners bracket and met Cashie again this morning.
Fighting through the light rain, Cashie took a 6-3 lead top of the 3rd inning. Bottom of third with two runners on Cameron Medlin hit a 3 RBI triple to tie the game. In the bottom of the fourth inning with a runner on Cameron Salmon hit a two run over the fence home run tsking the lead and not looking back. RV went on to win 11-6, finially beating Cashie.
On the mound for RV was Carson Neal for the first three innings giving up one walk, Cameron Medlin came in for the remaining three innings striking out four and walking one batter.
At the plare Cameron Salmon went 3-3 with Home Run, Ethan Vincent went 2-3, Cameron Medlin went 2-3 and Collin Long had a hit.

Ethan Vincent made an outstanding diving catch in the outfield early in the game for an out.
"Over Joyed," said coach Ricky Jordan, "These kids have lost to Cashie as 9-10 and twice this year, so it was good for them to finially beat them, Cashie are a team of Great ball players and not an easy team to beat, by no means", coach added.
RV could see Cashie yet again as Holly Springs, Cashie and Lenoir County battle it out today in the losser bracket.
RV U12's will play in the 2013 ENC Cal Ripken State Championship game Sunday at 2 p.m. pending weather and have already been invited to the Souteast Regional Cal Ripken Tournament July 26th in Holly Springs NC.
