Roanoke Rapids resident Lee Powers plays professional men's slow pitch softball for Louisville Slugger. This past weekend Powers was part of Backman Shoppe in the 2013 Men's Slow pitch World Series in Orlando FL at Disney's ESPN Wide World sports complex. The team tied for fifth place with a 2-2 record. Powers was the leading team batter with a .706 batting average. In the four games Powers was at bat 17 times getting a hit 12 times. Three were home runs, two double and other seven were singles. He scored 9 runs and had 10 RBI's (runs batted in).
