Lieutenant Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said shortly after 2 p.m., Narcotics Agent S.G. Page allegedly observed a vehicle run a stop sign at the intersection of West Alsop and South Dennis streets in Enfield.
Alsop Street, according to Harris, is emerging as a problem area for the narcotics trade in Enfield.
Page identified the driver as 37-year-old Jennifer Paige Sykes.
During Page's investigation, the agent seized a crack cocaine rock and several items of drug paraphernalia.
The paraphernalia consisted of a Chore Boy scrubber, plastic baggies and three glass smoking pipes.
Harris explained the scrubber is packed in one end of the pipe and used as a screening device.
Page charged Sykes with felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop for a stop sign.
She was jailed on $1,000 bond and has a December 4 court date.
Harris said the sheriff's office is working with the Enfield Police Department to address issues in the Alsop Street area.
