Going into the fifth month of her disappearance, the family of Amy Bridgeman has increased the reward for credible information leading to her whereabouts to $2,000.

While the family believes foul play may be involved, her husband, James, said in a statement Thursday night announcing the reward, Lieutenant Rich Somogyi of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office, said he has no evidence, “To indicate that one way or the other.”

Said Somogyi: “We're making contact with a lot of law enforcement agencies. There's no local information at all. We just need information.”

The sheriff's office said in July the last time her husband heard from her was June 24.

It is known that she went out with friendsand her husband received a text message from her phone although Mr. Bridgeman said his wife did not send the text.

The text gave no hint as to her location and the sheriff's office declined to discuss details of the message.

Bridgeman, 42, has blue eyes and shoulder length hair that she often changes from black to brown. She has fair skin and was last seen wearing a white shirt with four black stripes and Capri pants.

She takes medication daily and her family is concerned whether she has a supply with her. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Somogyi at 252-583-1991 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
