Martin shines in UNC win

University of North Carolina (UNC) won its fourth consecutive game and improved to 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the ACC with a 34-27 victory over Pitt today.

Roanoke Rapids High School standout Senior defensive end Kareem Martin recorded eight tackles, 3.5 sacks for 34 yards, forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble, broke up a pass and had two quarterback hurries.  In the first half alone, he had six tackles, three sacks and forced a fumble that was recovered by linebacker Travis Hughes. 

 

 

Cornerback Tim Scott made his 30th career start today.  He is one of five Tar Heels to start 30 games, joining OT James Hurst (46), DE Kareem Martin (38), S Tre Boston (37) and QB Bryn Renner (32).
