On Saturday, October 26, Ultimate Cheer & Fitness Center for Women, LLC, hosted the Ultimate Cheer for A Cure's 2nd Invitational at Roanoke Rapids High School. Several local teams including Chaloner, Roanoke Rapids Midget football cheer, and Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity joined Ultimate Cheer All-stars teams by showcasing their cheer routines.

Bonnie's School of Dance and Crystal's Elite Dance Studio also joined these athletes by performing 2 dances specifically designed to show support for cancer and 5 solos.

The purpose of this event for these talented individuals is to come together and raise awareness for Cancer Research and donate all the proceeds to The American Cancer Society.

The total amount donated was a whopping $3500 coming from the event itself, the RR Midget Cheerleaders donating almost $500 themselves, a private donation, and our sponsors: Ultimate Cheer, Clements Mechanical Inc., Tequila Sunrise, Shannon Golden, Chrissy Poole, Kendall Rightmyer, Wilkie Real Estate, Valley Center for Life Enrichment, Logan's and Cook-Out.

Jessica Clements, owner of Ultimate Cheer said, "We have to set the example for what we want our next generation to be and act like. While fundraising is important to better businesses, it is also essential to teach these children to give back. I am proud to say we surround ourselves with people who don't mind spending their morning giving back to a cause that has affected us all in some way and to those individuals currently in need."
