Lasky said Petsense is looking at a construction up-fit of the Blockbuster building while Sheetz plans to submit formal site plans by the end of the year.
“Development is continuing within the city,” she said. “Things are looking positive.”
In another matter involving the Planning and Development Department Tuesday, the Halifax-Northampton Habitat for Humanity recognized Code Enforcement Supervisor Brian Duhadaway for his help in the move of its store to Highway 48 and Smith Church Road and in helping to repair some Habitat houses.
“Brian has a heart as big as he is,” Lasky said. “It's an example of an employee giving back to the community he serves.”
Rochelle King, executive director of the local Habitat chapter, presented Duhadaway a certificate of appreciation for his help. “You really touched my heart,” she said, describing him as a Good Samaritan.
