Candice Smith and Abbie Carpenter are part of a Greenville based U-12 Heart Breakers travel fast pitch softball team that traveled to Myrtle Beach this weekend.

The team played in the World Fast pitch Connection "Battle at the Beach" tournament with 31 other teams from many states. The team played five games Saturday in the light cold rain, winning all five. Sunday would be a long day freezing day with four games being played but the team would come up short and lose two of those and ended up with a 4th place finish.

Smith pitched five of those seven wins and had no loses on the mound. Carpenter played the catcher, first and third base throughout the games and was awarded the teams weekend MVP.
