Disturbance call includes shots fired; no arrests

A Saturday night disturbance call included shots fired but investigation led to no arrests, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

The call came around 11:30 p.m., Sheriff Wes Tripp said. Shots were fired before deputies' arrival at the Mystique venue on Highway 125.

Based on the investigation, no arrests were made.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said the sheriff's office alerted police of spillover possibly coming into the city limits in the aftermath of the call.

Jackson said police kept watch on hotspots in the Julian R. Allsbrook Highway area and there were no further incidents arising from the the initial call.
