A father was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia while his son was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and cyberstalking Tuesday, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Major Scott Hall said in a statement that during the service of a protective order, Corporal R.M. Brown noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view and charged Paul Lewis Fitts, 53, with possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the service of the order, Brown seized seven weapons and charged the son, Billy Paul Fitts, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and cyberstalking.

It was not clear how the cyberstalking charge came into play.

Billy Fitts received a $5,000 secured bond and January 15 court date while his father was released after receiving a citation and given the same court date.
