Northampton County Sheriff's Office deputies have responded to two assault calls within a matter of two days — the first between a husband and wife and the second between a father and son.

The first occurred Saturday when Deputy William James responded to Marigold Lane in Garysburg.

There, according to a statement from Sheriff Jack Smith, he spoke with Elaine and Kenny Broady. The deputy discovered scratches on Mr. Broady and arrested Mrs. Broady for simple assault.

Officer Mike Boone of the Garysburg Police Department assisted and Mrs. Broady was given a $1,000 bond and January 2 court date.

Meanwhile today, deputies Justine Wilkins and Marcel Goffington responded to a call at the Village Grocery at the Interstate 95-Highway 46 intersection in Garysburg.

They learned there had been an assault involving Sean Joseph Comtois, 46, and his son, Sean Joshua Comtois, 20, both of Fayetteville, New York.

After finding injuries on both men and speaking with witnesses, the investigating deputies learned a crow bar was used.

Sean Joseph Comtois was arrested for simple assault and his son was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Gaston Police Officer Thomas Staton assisted in the arrests and both men were given $2,000 bonds and January 16 court dates.
