Phillip Grant Cooper

Philip Grant Cooper, 62, of Magnolia Gardens in Warrenton, NC, died Sunday, December 29th at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.  

Phil was born April 30th, 1951 in Roanoke Rapids to the late Roy T. and Geraline G. Cooper.  

He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1970 and continued his education at Devry Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.  

He spent the rest of his life working as an electrician.  Phil had a great love of music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.  He also had a big heart and cherished every member of his family and all of his friends.

Phil is survived by his 19 year old son, Roy Grant Cooper, of Homosassa, Florida; his sister Dawn Dickens and husband Wayne of Gasburg, Virginia.  Phil also had a niece, Amy Nowell of Roanoke Rapids, and two nephews Josh and Grant Dickens and their families of Wake Forest, NC.

There will be a casual gathering of friends and family on Wednesday, January 1st, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Phil’s memory be made to Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
